How do I begin to organize?
Begin knowing that what is putting you in chaos is your clutter. The key phrase is "Less is more." Less clutter means more efficient living space.
Be ready to purge.
How do I know what to purge?
Whatever you are holding on to that you are not using and have not used for years, should be donated or sold. If you cannot use it, then don't keep it. We live in a bountiful world; everything is available to us.

The job is too big. Isn't it easier to just let it sit than to take charge?

Wardrobe FAQ's
Remember “Less is more” in your closet. If your closets are so crowded that you cannot see what you have - unload!
There are many shelters and less fortunate people that can enjoy your leftovers.
What is the most economical way to build my wardrobe?
Build your basics (for example buy basic colors for your skirts & pants. Make sure for winter you have a good supply of black, then khaki, then brown etc. Always have a good denim skirt on hand and black jeans. Then buy fun tops, jackets shirts etc. The top is what pulls the outfit together.
Do the opposite for summer. White comes into play, khaki, then navy etc. for your bottoms. Keep a good assortment of turtlenecks or t-shirts on hand so you can always layer.
How do I organize my closet so I can shop it easily and take little time?
Classify your jackets, pants, blouses, etc. then color code them light to dark. Bottoms on the bottom rack, tops and jackets on the top. You will find it is so easy to co-ordinate your wardrobe. It will be like shopping in a store.
How do I know what to get rid of in my closets?
If you have not worn something for two years the item or outfit is probably history. Maybe look at it one more season. If by the end of the season you have not touched it, the item should be purged.
What if I have gotten a bit heavier, should I keep my smaller sizes?
Yes, for maybe two years, but only save basics. Most of your fashion pieces will be out of style. Go ahead and give away. Remember when you get thinner you will want to indulge yourself with new clothes anyway. You will be so happy with your new-found body.
What if I can not afford new clothes? My family is in a financial pinch.
That's great. There is nothing more fun than bargain shopping or second hand stores. I have looked the best in second hand clothes. It is all how you put it together and how you feel.. Like a milliion dollars ...no matter what.
What if I go shopping and a sales clerk tells me I look great, and I know I do not?
You could ask her to leave and ask for someone honest! Or have a wardrobe consultant like Suzy help you pull it together. Suzy will always tell you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. :)
Suzy has a lot more fashion tips so feel free to call and set up an appointment.
Remember you are a woman and you are beautiful on the inside and out..
Downsizing FAQ's
When do I begin to downsize?
If you plan to leave your home and go into a smaller space, try to start as early as possible. Hire a downsizer so you can develop a plan and a time schedule for your move. In many cases we begin the work anywhere from six months to two years prior to moving time. (If the move is immediate, then your organizer team will complete your downsizing quickly.)
How do I know what to get rid of and what to keep?
Show your downsizer your new residence so he or she can determine that which is to be kept for the smaller space, and which pieces of furniture will fit in your new surroundings.
Why do I need a downsizer for my move?
Your downsizer will simplify your move and create a space specific to your needs. He or she will also help you cull all the stuff that you have accumulated, so you will move only those items you deem worth keeping.
How does the organizer plan the new space for both husband and wife, so that each has their own space and identity in the smaller residence?
Your downsizer has each individual explain what his or her needs are. For example, the wife may have need for a craft area or art room, or the husband might like a library etc. Together we plan the new space so all individual needs are satisfied.
What do I do with my memorabilia?
We box and label "his and hers" in plastic containers all those items not selected for placement or display in the new space such as pictures, framed documents, awards, trophies, etc.
What do we do with our many boxes of pictures?
Your downsizer can furnish sorters from a creative memory consultant so as to minimize the myriad collections. These sorters hold about 2,000 pictures. Then after the move when time is available, you can "scrapbook" as you please. The most important goal is to get the pictures condensed.
Do downsizers create closet and spatial design for the client's new surroundings?
Yes, they do! Your downsizer creates all your spatial needs for your storage, wardrobing and workspace, and also helps determine where your furniture will be placed in this new space.
What do I do with all my paperwork?
Your downsizer guides you on what to keep and what to discard, then stores and labels the important documents in file folders to organized in filing cabinets and/or plastic covered storage tubs. You will be encouraged not to move a lot of paperwork - just important legal documents, tax records, and particularly significant personal papers.
